The Basics

Intro.

A Fun Quiz is an effective way for a charity or good cause to raise funds, without requiring supporters to be physically challenged or passively contributing to someone else’s physical discomfort.

We provide such events in conjunction with an organiser from the charity/good cause, thus ensuring that the participants are getting entertained whilst supporting the cause.

Fun Quizzes are not designed to find a ‘brainbox’ and thus embarrass everyone else.  The questions are generally set to tease rather than dumbfound and are arranged in rounds which have a theme which is often not just a ‘school subject’.

Traditionally these events have been based in a local hall or pub, but with the restrictions placed on meetings by COVID-19 are alternatively offered as remote (i.e. via Zoom).

General

We provide the questions, quizmaster and any paperwork given out during the quiz.

You provide the venue, participants and money handling. If you wish, you could also arrange food and drink, and/or raffle which would enable more money to be made, and perhaps a small prize for the winning team?

Venue-based Quiz

We additionally provide a scorer and have the ability to ensure all teams are ‘in with a shout’ for as long as possible to ensure everybody is engaged throughout the event.

Zoom-based Quiz

We have found that the best way to run a remote quiz is for the organiser to initiate the Zoom session, and therefore arrange for someone to keep the scores as well.

About QMJeff

I am basically a one-man operation, but able to call on a few trusted friends to assist where necessary.

I have been quizzing since 2012 having been drawn into it as a team member with my elder daughter when she worked for a local charity, and became more involved over time.

Since I retired in 2013, I have spent a considerable amount of time and effort to provide quiz questions that are interesting and varied, for many (mainly) local charities and good causes for which I provide my services without charge (within about ten miles of Stevenage).

To date I have participated in over 120 quizzes and helped to raise over £50,000 for local charities.
